Ubicación y comienzo.
Bodegas y Viñedos Ángel Lorenzo Cachazo está situada en la localidad de Pozaldez, provincia de Valladolid, y forma parte de la Denominación de origen Rueda, la primera D.O. de vinos blancos de España y de una gran tradición vinícola. Fundada en 1988, su filosofía se asienta sobre los pilares de nuestra herencia familiar y de la tradición local: Los abuelos y bisabuelos de la familia ya cuidaban sus viñedos para producir uva con la que posteriormente elaboraban los vinos de la antigua “Tierra de Medina”, famosos en los años de apogeo de las Ferias de Medina del Campo. La inauguración de las nuevas instalaciones supuso un cambio en la elaboración de los tradicionales vinos de la zona y una apuesta por los blancos modernos obtenidos con las técnicas más novedosas, pero sin olvidar lo fundamental: la mejor selección de la uva que obtenemos de nuestros propios viñedos.
Viñedo.
Los viñedos se encuentran en los términos municipales de Pozaldez, Pozal de Gallinas y Rodilana y son tierras pardas ricas en calcio y magnesio y pedregosas, hecho que ayuda a una buena aireación y drenaje. Los viñedos están a 700 y 800 metros y están bañados por el río Duero. En cuanto a la climatología, los inviernos son muy fríos y largos, las primaveras cortas y los veranos calurosos y secos. Hay gran variación de temperaturas entre el día y la noche, lo que propicia un buen equilibrio entre el azúcar y la acidez de la uva. La adecuada tecnología nos permite vendimiar la uva mecánicamente. La vendimia mecánica se realiza habitualmente por las noches evitando así las oxidaciones de los mostos.
