Los orígenes de una historia.

Con más de 50 años de historia, fundada el 1963, la Cooperativa de Garriguella es la unión de pequeños productores, viticultores de Garriguella, es el testimonio vivo de la tozudez, el trabajo y el sacrificio de una gran familia que creían firmemente que juntando sus recursos podrían hacer más fuerza para optimizar los trabajos agrícolas, modernizar la maquinaria de la bodega y conseguir un mayor beneficio económico gracias a ofrecer un producto de calidad, un producto excepcional de alto valor cultural, un vino que reflejara su tierra, el Alt Empordá y sus orígenes. La Cooperativa de Garriguella ha sabido unir esfuerzos, creando y consolidándonos en la comarca, nos hemos convertido en una de las entidades vitivinícolas más fuertemente arraigadas y con más tradición de la D.O. Empordà, hemos conseguido un proyecto ambicioso el qual ha promovido nuestra identidad como pueblo de tradición vitivinícola, además de dar relieve a nuestra comarca, a nuestro paisaje, los viñedos y a nuestra gastronomía, convirtiendo nuestra región en una de las zonas eno-gastronómicas más celebradas y representativas de nuestro país. Actualmente, la Cooperativa cuenta con 55 miembros y un total de 160 hectáreas, desde 1975 estamos inscritos en la D.O. Empordà y desde el año 2013 formamos parte de la Ruta del Vino de la D.O. Empordà, disponemos de una Agrotienda donde vendemos productos de proximidad y de un Espacio Gastronómico, donde se pueden degustar y comprar además de nuestros vinos, productos representativos ampurdaneses, además ofrecemos un amplio abanico de propuestas enoturísticas.

Hacia la competitividad.

Nuestra cooperativa entra en este nuevo siglo, proponiéndose un cambio fundamental en su estrategia productora de vinos. Lo que significa que sin dejar de lado el principio básico que es producir uva de calidad, nos proponemos hacer que nuestros vinos accedan de forma competitiva a los mejores mercados del mundo. Para conseguirlo contamos con ventajas comparativas, cómo pueden ser la mayor extensión de viñas del Ampurdán, con un 70% de viñas que superan los 50 años, con una producción media de 2,5 kg por cepa, sin dejar de lado que en la mano de nuestra gente empieza la selección de la uva, que después continuamos a nuestro bodega aplicando las más modernas técnicas de vinificación. Como prueba de que avanzamos por el buen camino "la Guía Peñin de los vinos de España 2010" evaluó a 8 de nuestros vinos en el apartado Las mejores compras, lo que nos ha permitido, entre otras cosas, triplicar nuestras ventas. Como deseo conjunto queremos que la gente comparta nuestra filosofía a través de nuestros vinos.

Viñedos y bodega.

Cultivamos las viñas tal y como nuestros antepasados nos enseñaron. La Cooperativa de Garriguella dispone de aproximadamente 160 hectáreas de viñedo plantadas sobre pizarras, con un paisaje irregular acariciado por fuertes ráfagas de tramontana y caracterizado por un clima mediterráneo. Estas condiciones climatológicas son idóneas para el cultivo de la vid que dan rendimientos muy bajos (producción media de 2,5 kg por cepa), con una media de edad de 70 años. Hemos incorporando tecnologías avanzadas en nuestro proceso de vinificación, siempre respetando el medio ambiente. Tenemos las variedades tintas tradicionales de garnacha tinta y mazuelo complementadas con Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah y Tempranillo, así como las variedades blancas de garnacha blanca y roja, macabeo y moscatel, con una producción anual aproximada de 1.200.000 kilos de uva , con los que se produce unos 800.000 litros de vino. La bodega data del año 1963 y dispone de más de 60 depósitos de diferentes capacidades, desde 5.000 litros hasta 35.000 litros, todos con sistemas de control de temperatura y sistemas de inertización con gases antioxidantes. La sala de envejecimiento subterránea, con más de 150 barricas de roble francés y americano de capacidad de 225 litros, permite mantener estable la temperatura de los vinos durante todo el año.
