Protegida de las influencias oceánicas por el macizo de los Vosgos y expuesta a la luz solar máxima, la falla geológica de Ribeauvillé tiene un rico mosaico de suelos: Arenisca, piedra caliza, margas, arcillas; estos activos, que favorecen el desarrollo de numerosas variedades de uva y la aparición de aromas que favorecen la producción de vinos puros, elegantes, muy frescos, siendo muy representativos de sus suelos.
