Español [ ES ]La Torre del Veguer tiene sus fundamentos en el siglo XIV y ha ido evolucionando en consonancia con su territorio, su gente y su historia hasta convertirse en un referente. Entre sus muros se encuentra la sobriedad de lo medieval, la solemnidad de los claustros, la innovación de la era industrial y el perfeccionismo de la actualidad. Un eclecticismo que marca la diferencia en sus vinos. Torre del Veguer es una de las bodegas más singulares del mundo vinícola, situada en un enclave idílico en Sant Pere de Ribes (Barcelona, DO Penedès). Familiar, de producción artesanal, Torre del Veguer es una masía fortificada del 1359, en donde elaboramos vinos de calidad a partir de nuestros propios viñedos ecológicos. Aspiramos a la excelencia en todo el proceso, desde el viñedo a la comercialización. Los vinos de Torre del Veguer ya fueron premiados con la Medalla de Oro en la Exposición Universal de Barcelona de 1888. Respetando la estructura medieval y la reforma efectuada en el siglo XIX, desde 1995 se han incorporado nuevas y modernas instalaciones para elaborar los vinos siguiendo las tendencias de mercado. En 1995 iniciamos esta nueva etapa de la bodega, basada en la elaboración de vinos de calidad a partir de variedades autóctonas del Garraf como Xarel.lo y Malvasía, mediterráneas como el Muscat y Garnacha, y de otros orígenes como Cabernet Sauvignon y Petite Syrah. Nuestros viñedos son 100% ecológicos desde 2016 y se encuentran rodeando la bodega con el Mar Mediterráneo como telón de fondo.
La denominada Torre del Veguer, se encuentra en el extremo poniente del término municipal de St. Pere de Ribes, tocando al límite del término de Vilanova y la Geltrú, en la Comarca del Garraf. Se trata de un edificio aislado de estilo ecléctico, edificado en su mayor parte durante el siglo XIX sobre la base de un antigua “casa fuerte” medieval anterior al año 1359, de la cual se conservan algunos elementos. En el exterior encontramos un gran portalón de arco de punto redondo adornado con un escudo de mármol del siglo XVI con las armas de los Avinyó, y con sólidos contrafuertes adosados. En el interior, tres arcos ojivales en la bodega y un arco de medio punto en la cocina, son testimonios de la antigüedad del edificio. Actualmente está catalogada como edificio histórico-artístico por la Generalitat de Catalunya (R-I-51-5665).
