De artista a cosechero.

Bibi Graetz es una persona creativa con un carácter fuerte que aborda los desafíos con gran pasión. Es conocido en la escena del vino italiano por ser el artista productor. Habiendo crecido en una familia cosmopolita de artistas, pudo aprender la belleza que puede brindar una vida dedicada al arte. Después de graduarse de la Academia de Bellas Artes de Florencia, decidió combinar sus dos grandes pasiones en una sola actividad: En el año 2000, el destino le permitió cosechar y producir su propio vino. Este fue el comienzo de una gran carrera y una de las bodegas más creativas en Toscana e Italia. Su talento artístico, Bibi lo expresa a través de sus hermosas etiquetas, sus diseños abstractos y los nombres memorables que le dio a sus vinos. Entre los más famosos: Testamatta y Casamatta. Los padres, que venían de Noruega, habían adquirido una finca con viñedos en las colinas de Fiesole. Pero durante mucho tiempo a nadie realmente le importó la faceta del cultivo. Solo Bibi Graetz empezó un día a plantar enredaderas en la marga toscana y suelos arcillosos mezclados con arena. Fundó Testamatta a finales de la década de 1990 sin más preámbulos.

El crecimiento.

Bibi Graetz, al principio, se sintió abrumado con el proceso de elaboración del vino. Solo después de un aprendizaje de cuatro años con enólogos experimentados, tuvo la impresión de que tenía el conocimiento suficiente para poder comenzar su nueva tarea, e intercambiar los utensilios de pintura por las herramientas de un enólogo. Ya en el VinExpo 2003 en Burdeos, Graetz fue galardonado como el mejor descubrimiento de vino tinto. Mientras tanto, la firma va adquiriendo una excelente reputación entre los expertos. Las dos hectáreas de viñedo utilizadas inicialmente para el cultivo ya no son suficientes, se quedaban cortas para cubrir las necesidades de la bodega, por lo cual, Bibi Graetz, estuvo trabajando durante años con viticultores y amigos de él, para obtener más uvas para sus apreciados vinos.
