Español [ ES ]La voluntad de Edouard Kressmann, uno de los más antiguos 'négociants' de Burdeos, era consolidar una gama de vinos menos reputados que los Grands Crus, pero con un terruño en el que él veía potencial real para estar casi al mismo nivel. Muy preocupado por la calidad de estos vinos, estableció asociaciones comerciales y técnicas con viticultores de la zona con la idea de asesorarles durante las cosechas. Así fue como en 1871 se interesó por Château La Pierrière, en Saint-Emilion, una hermosa propiedad familiar perteneciente a la familia Marcillac desde 1607. La pasión por el vino y la vid ha perdurado durante varias generaciones desde aquellos comienzos. Desde que Kressmann se interesase por esa propiedad, sus descendientes han mantenido la relación con la familia Marcillac por sus viñedos. A día de hoy, la firma Kressmann establece nuevas asociaciones con otras propiedades como Château Sissan, con el fin de elaborar un nuevo Grande Réserve entre ambas partes.Cuando se produjo la plaga de la filoxera y el mildiu, el viñedo en Burdeos quedó devastado. Fue el momento en el que la casa Kressmann, convencida del potencial que ofrecía la mezcla de vinos del mismo terruño, lanzó al mercado en 1897 su Kressmann Monopole. Hoy, esta es una de las marcas más antiguas de la región, fruto de aquella intuición que guió a Edouard Kressmann en momentos de grandes dificultades para el viñedo bordelés. Además, Kressmann es una de las marcas más conocidas en el mundo de la restauración; continuamente reciben numerosos comentarios en las guías francesas de vinos. A ello han contribuido también operaciones como la adquisición en 1930 de Château Latour-Martillac, en Pessac-Léognan, así como la implicación de Edouard Jr. en la fundación del sindicato de 'négociants' de Burdeos entre 1940 y 1950. Ya en la década de los años sesenta se conforma la asociación entre el grupo CVBG Dourthe y Kressmann, lo que favorece el desarrollo de las exportaciones de la casa.
