Historia.

Moët & Chandon es una bodega de champagne fundada en 1743 por Claude Moët y ahora propiedad del grupo de lujo LVMH, avenue de Champagne en Épernay. En 1792, Jean-Rémy Moët asumió la dirección de la bodega fundada por su abuelo en 1743. Construyó su nueva mansión en Épernay, en las afueras de La Folie, hoy Avenue de Champagne, cerca del lugar donde se encuentran las bodegas y almacenes de la empresa familiar, y desarrolló su actividad comercial. En 1833, la empresa Moët se convirtió en Moët et Chandon tras la entrada del yerno de Jean-Rémy Moët, Pierre-Gabriel Chandon, asociado a la gestión de la casa de Victor Moët de Romont. La empresa de champán experimentó un aumento de las ventas gracias al desarrollo de las exportaciones a Europa y luego a todo el mundo. Además, Jean-Rémy está considerado como el primer viticultor de la región de Champagne, y su marca se asocia el mítico rociado con champagne tras la celebración de un éxito deportivo, práctica que como curiosidad comenzó realizándose en la prueba automovilística de Las 24 horas de Le Mans en 1967.

Moët Impérial es el emblemático vino base de la bodega, un icono de Francia en el extranjero. Una mezcla perfecta de más de 200 cosechas, este champán crudo mezcla armoniosamente el cuerpo del Pinot Noir, la flexibilidad del molinero y la finura del chardonnay. Una sola hectárea de Moët & Chandon requiere más de 750 horas de cuidado meticuloso para crear vinos excepcionales. Bajo la influencia de Moët & Chandon, el viñedo de Champagne es una denominación de origen desde 1927. Se convirtió en AOC en 1935.
